New York, USA, 31st of July - In honor of Friendship Day, a tradition dated back to the 1930’s, SCOSHA jewelry will support the special unity called friendship throughout the month of August. A collection of friendship bracelets designed by SCOSHA will be sold at select retailers. Retail prices start at $25. Customers who purchase a SCOSHA friendship bracelet will also receive an additional free friendship bracelet with envelope, ready to be mailed to your friend of choice! * All proceeds from the SCOSHA friendship bracelets will be donated to the AiA Art Pen Pal Program.
The Art in All of Us organization promotes global cultural exchange using art and creative activity programs, such as in the Art Pen Pal Program. Founder Anthony Asael explains, "Through our Art Pen Pal Program, we started a children solidarity and friendship chain for the children in Haiti. The starting point was in Banda Aceh, Indonesia - the epicenter of 2004 Tsunami, and will reach Port-au-Prince by end 2010, where thousands of children will receive the opportunity to express themselves. Thanks to Scosha's friendship month, more schools will be able to participate in the solidarity network"
SCOSHA Designer Scosha Woolridge describes her inspiration for this promotion as, “For me, braiding and weaving can represent the ideal manner of human interaction - each strand works with the other to create a mass of strength. When I discovered AiA, I felt that this was an appropriate way of being able to materialize this message for a good cause. Encouraging my clients to connect with their loved ones is a mirror of the pen pal program that connects children across diverse cultures through the exchange of their own art. So I guess you could say that this event is for the continuation of that universal force and love."
The SCOSHA friendship bracelets can be purchased at www.scoshanyc.com and New York Adorned (47 Second Avenue - New York, N.Y. 10003 - 212-473-0007), Kabiri (London), Robby Ingham (Sydney)
